So this article will give you the inside information on the simplest and most effective measures for reducing your rosacea problem, limiting flareups and improving your skin tone.

The basics for reducing your rosacea flareups:

#1 Avoid extreme heat and cold. In hot climates avoid vigorous exercise, sun baking and activities which can rise body temperature to a high level. Wear sunscreen, always! In cold climates keep yourself well covered and warm. Harsh climates can bring on flareups, so stay in moderate temperatures wherever possible.

#2 Drink plenty of water. Yes it’s very simple and very effective. Hydrated skin is more resilient, less prone to rosacea flareups.

#3 Find rosacea products that work for you. There are numerous creams, moisturizers and cleansers available for the treatment of rosacea. Personally, I have found “Finacea” cream very effective at reducing the number of pustules I have and “Cetaphil” moisturizer great for keeping my skin replenished. You will have to experiment probably, most people have to try a few creams to find the best match.

#4 Talk to your doctor. If you have a sudden serious flareup, times a short course of antibiotics can be the most effective measure.

#5 Look into IPL for rosacea. IPL is the use of lasers to reduce the overall redness of your face and reduce the appearance of broken veins and pustules. Talk to a dermatologist about this one, many people have found it to be very effective!

#6 Find makeup to cover your rosacea. You have to be careful with rosacea though – makeup that has too many caustic ingredients, fragrances and oil may actually make your rosacea worse. Test the product on an inconspicuous part of the body before the face.

#7 Use herbal remedies. Many people swear by green tea as an anti-inflammatory, soothing the skin and working as an anti-oxidant. Others use oatmeal or cucumber on their face to give some relief to stressed out skin. These natural products are often more effective than chemical filled creams and facial scrubs.

Stay positive about your condition, if you follow the simple steps above you are well on your way to making rosacea a minor affliction which you take care of in 15 minutes every day and some simple behavioral changes.
