Besides buying a shelf full of anti aging wrinkle creams to eliminate those unwanted lines and wrinkles, what else can you do (perhaps cheaper) for anti aging skin care?
One thing you can do is consume more fish oils or take a fish oil supplement. Fish oils are a natural anti-inflammatory, and anti-inflammatories are good for the skin. There have been studies showing that after taking fish oil supplements for three months, the skin’s firmness can increase by 10%.
Other supplements that benefit the skin (or anti aging skin care dietary supplements, as it were) include grape seed extract, lycopene, and tea catechins.
A far simpler (and no doubt more pleasurable) anti aging skin care measure you can take is to drink a glass of red wine now and then. Studies have shown that a glass of red wine a day is good for your heart. But it has also been discovered that an ingredient in red wine called resveratrol, that’s been associated with longevity in moderate amounts, may help your skin stay looking young.
Some non-dietary anti-aging skin care steps you can take without buying creams include reducing your risk of overexposure to the sun. Using a good sun block (with the emphasis on the word “good”, meaning it blocks out harmful UV rays without putting any harmful artificial ingredients into your skin) can help preserve your skin’s youthfulness and stave off premature wrinkles and other signs of aging for a long time to come, as can quitting smoking. Cigarette smoking is not only harmful to your insides, it’s also harmful to your outsides.
All in all, there’s a lot you can do for anti aging skin care without having to buy any creams.
